Karate is a great way to get in shape, physically and mentally and is also a wonderful way for families to spend time together while keeping active. Regardless of the student’s age, karate helps to:

  • Develop strength, coordination, speed, balance, stamina, and agility.
  • Improve mental skills like focus and sequencing
  • Build self-confidence through discipline, hard work, and dedication.
  • Hone leadership skills through rank advancement.

Teen/Adult Program Age 13+

In this program, teens and adults train together in a respectful environment. Class begins with traditional Uechi Ryu warm ups and exercises and includes a variety of skills and applications needed for karate training. Students learn “katas” (prearranged forms), two-person sets appropriate to their rank, explore techniques for self-defense purposes and gain a comfort level with sparring.

Promotions are earned with good attendance, hard work, and dedication to the principles of karate. Advancing in rank helps to build confidence and pride and this translates into an improved ability to tackle new challenges not only in the dojo, but outside as well.

All new students are scheduled for a free 20-minute introductory lesson with no obligation to join.
